A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA,
SUPPORTING THE PASSAGE OF THE SEVEN SINGLE -MEMBER DISTRICT CHARTER AMENDMENT
WHICH WILL APPEAR ON THE NOVEMBER 8, 1988 BALLOT.
WHEREAS, under Florida law the voters of a county have the right to
determine what form of county government is responsive to their needs; and
WHEREAS, a county wide planning conference, Directions '88, also
recommends that this question be placed before Palm Beach County voters; and
WHEREAS, the Coalition for the Right to Vote organized a countywide
petition drive to gain sufficient signatures to place the seven single member
districts question on the November 8 ballot; and
WHEREAS, The Supervisor of Elections has issued an official
certification verifying that the submitted petitions were sufficient to place
the single -member district issue on the ballot;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORTH PALM
BEACH, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The Village Council of North Palm Beach does hereby
support passage of the Seven Single -Member district charter amendment which will
appear on the November 8, 1988 ballot in Palm Beach County, Florida.
Section 2. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
passage.
PASSED AND ADOPTED THIS 27TH DAY OF OCTOBER , 1988.
