NEW NORTH PALM COUNTRY CLUB --Monday night North
Palm Beach Village Council awarded a $285,600 building con-
tract to Thomas Hodges Construction Company to build this new
Country Club building and 50-meter pool, with dressing rooms
facilities, spectator shelter, snack bar, golf shop, locker rooms
dining room facilities and dining terrace, jcludinc a private
dining room, expanded parking area and golf course fifty' ove
ments. Town Manager Albin Olson said work will commence
next week with final completion set for Oct. 1 . The program is
part of a 1.43 million dollar recreation center program ap-)ro-
ved by the voters on July 25. Last Jan. 2. the village purchased
Wilco t ,149-acre North Palm Beach Country Club for $1,1)15 000.

NPB Will Study Rec Project Bids
NORTH PALM BEACH — Vil-
lage Councilmen will probably
meet in special session next week,
to examine bids on the proposed
recreation project here, Village
Manager Albin R. Olson indicated
Thursday.
The village has earmarked $355,-
000 from a bond issue totaling
$1,430,000 for improvements and
additions to the North Palm
Beach Country Club.
Olson said Thursday he is con-
fident he will be able to tabulate
the bids sometime this weekend
and be in a position to make his
recommendations to the council at curbing, $17,993; kitchen equip-
ment, $17,345.
Of the original bond issue, Ol-
sen explained, $1,015,000 went for
purchase of the country club an
existing facilities.
Village officials expect to spen
$60,000 to improve the golf course
the meeting.
Apparent low bids included:
For the club house, $143,122;
swimming pool, $150,000; combi-
nation bid on both, $292,800; venti-
lation, heating and air condition-
ing, $21,926; paving, parking and
