Selects Officers

chosen as mayor of the newly -
incorporated Village of N or t h
Palm Beach as the village coun-
cil organized Friday.
Richard E. Ross was named
vice mayor, John A. Schwcncke,
treasurer and tax assessor; Jay
H. White, tax collector; Robert.
C. Tufford, clerk.
The council passed ordinances
granting franchise to the Florida
Power and Light Co. for elec-
tricity and the North Palm Beach
Utilities . Co. for water and sew-
erage, took action necessary to
obtain the town's share of state
cigaret tax revenue, adopted a
criminal code a n d established
rules for council proceedings.
A resolution welcomed t h e
Pratt & Whitney jet engine plant
to Palm Beach County. ;
The council met at the North
Palm Beach Country Club club-
house, which will serve as a vil-
lage hall until completion of the
new hall on US 1 at Anchorage
Rd. ahout Dec. L

Regular meetings will be held
on the 2nd and 4th Mondays at
3 p.m.
