Miss Apple Blossom will break
ground for a $90,000 twin addition to
the North Palm Beach Village Hall
Wednesday, Aug. 7, as the highlight of
her week in Palm Beach County.
Miss Jan Minnich, 17-year-old
beauty from Martinsburg, W. Va., will
toss earth for the groundbreaking at
11:15 a.m. that day in the rear of the
Village Hall, in the presence of village
officials.
At noon on that day she will be
honored at a luncheon in the dining
room of the North Palm Beach Country
Club, owned by the village. Mayor Tom
Lewis will give her a key to the village
and name her honorary mayor for that
day.
Miss Minnich was crowned queen
during the Shenandoah Valley Annual
Apple Festiva] in Winchester, Va., and
she will be the guest of Frank
Williams, vice president and general
manager of the Holiday Inns of Palm
Beach during the week.
This will be the 12th year a Mis ,
Apple Blossom has been a guest of the
Holiday Inns, and plans are in the
works to have her meet golfing greats
and other notables who make their
homes in the Palm Beaches.
Miss Minnich, who will enter West
Virginia University in the fall, will ar-
rive Monday with her mother, Mrs.
Albert Minnich.
