on-day.
Elaine Hoop, AAUW's legisla-
ti-ve chairman, has been planning
the event to be held at 7:30 p.m. in
the Lake Park Ballroom, Park Av-
enue, Lake Park.
Candidates in the November
erection, who have accepted the
invitation to attend, will give a
'short presentation, followed by a
y social meeting at which time ther-
e'll be more person-to-person con-
versations.
This is the third year that the
AAUW has invited the local politi-
cians to speak with their constitu-
ents at an open meeting.
Scheduled to attend, as of early
j this week, are:
St4te attorney candidates, Da-
vid Acton and David Bludworth;

candidates, George Hoff and John

The sponsoring AAUW extend-
ed invitations to local candidates of
both parties, whose names will ap-
pear on the north county ballot.
The gr '* oup stresses that this is
not merely, an organization meet-
in.g. The publIe is. invited to attend;
listen .4. 0 ash _qn stions'0.
There's lots more on the ballot
this time around than that long list
r of candidates.
Amendments` are ` toppling over
amendments and they'll be the top-
ic at a meeting of the Northside
Republican Club Tuesday evening.
Marion Lewis, who is happily
unopposed in her bid for another
term as Florida state representa-
tive, will discuss the 11 proposed
amendments to -the state constitu-
tion.
And when she has those propos-
als all sorted out and explained, a
'relvresentative of the county ad-
ministration will be called on to
explain the additional six amend-
ments offered on the ballot. They
call for changes in the laws of Palm
Beach County.
The meeting is set to begin with
coffee and sweets at 7 p.m., moving
to the serious topics at 7:30. It all
takes place at the North Palm
Beach Village .Mall council cham-
bers, U.S. 1 and South Anchorage
Avenue.
There's more information at
348-7181... but don't ask how long
he meeting will last.
