Eight of our members have been previous membersof other AAUW
branches, but otherwise the AAM program has bet..10.n. new to our group.
Theprogram chairman., thereforeo had what might be called the orienta4m

The immediate creation of two study groups has been an attraction
to new members* The study groups hs.ve also been a convenient loutlet t
to invite those who sought membership and were inel&bigle. This was
particularly helpful in our new community whith a new T.;ranch, where
AATPVV policy was not generally known, and we id not want to begin w1th
poor public relations. The Fact that one of our study groups included
and a pealled to men has created good riublicity.
Turnover will be inevitable In a new community in a state such as
Florida, but an attempt to preclude much drop-out has been made in

Although a Florida chapter, we have no members from any Florida
school! In fact, with the exception of one Mississippi State College
girl and two Duke girls, all graduated in sections of the country
otherthan the 6outheast. Twenty-six schools are represented.. Ten of
our members majored in some form of education --the most popular
by far., and the others run the gam-uto "We have four masters' degrees.
It is not surprising to know that all but two of our graduates are
from coeducational schools when one learns that all are married!
Nineteen of our degrees have been granted in the decade of the
150's. This meanst of course, that we are mothers of many children -04"

prising figure is that four of those children have been born since
our meetings began# and we are expecting six more before next fall*
