A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF NORTH
PALM BEACH, PALM BEACH COUNTY, FLORIDA, RESPECTFULLY REQUESTING THE
FAVORABLE CONSIDERATION OF THE HONORABLE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF WEST PALM BEACH, PALM BEACH COUNTY, FLORIDA, TO PERMIT THE
TRANSPORTATION OF VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH RESIDENTS BY THE INTER
CITY FIRST AID SQUAD FROM MEDICAL AND/OR NURSING FACILITIES WITHIN
THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF WEST PALM BEACH, UPON REQUEST OF
SAID RESIDENT OR THEIR AGENT.
WI{EREAS, the Village of North Palm Beach is a part of the
emergency ambulance district served by Inter City First Aid Squad; and
WHEREAS, the Inter City First Aid Squad has provided efficient,
courteous, non-profit, volunteer emergency service to the residents of
the Village of North Palm Beach for a number of years; and
WHEREAS, there are no hospitals or emergency room facilities
within the corporate limits of the Village of North Palm Beach; and
WHEREAS, accident victims, and other patients from the Village
of North Palm Beach requiring transportation to medical and/or nursing
facilities within the Corporate Limits of the City of West Palm Beach
utilize the Inter City First Aid Squad; and
WHEREAS, the accident victims, and other patients requiring
transportation to medical and/or nursing facilities within the Corporate
Limits of the City of West Palm Beach, donate monies to the Inter City
First Aid Squad for consideration of services rendered;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORTH
PALM BEACH, FLORIDA:
Section 1. That the Honorable City Commission of the City of
West Palm Beach favorably consider a change in their restrictive
ordinance that would permit the transportation by Inter City First Aid
Squad of residents of the Village of North Palm Beach from medical and/or
nursing facilities within the corporate limits of the City of West Palm
Beach to their homes or medical and/or nursing facilities within the
Village of North Palm Beach.
Section 2. This Resolution shall take effect immediately
upon passage.
