A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORTH PALM BEACH,
FLORIDA, TO ALL MEMBERS OF THE FLORIDA STATE LEGISLATURE STRONGLY
URGING POSITIVE ACTION TO INITIATE A MANADATORY STATEWIDE CERTIFI-
CATION PROGRAM FOR CONSTRUCTION CODE ENFORCEMENT OFFICIALS.
WHEREAS, the Voluntary Certification Program for Construction
Code Enforcement Officials established and sponsored by the Building
Officials Association of Florida is a successful, workable and viable
program, and
WHEREAS, qualified and responsible Construction Code Enforce-
ment Officials are necessary to formulate and enforce building codes
and standards as required by Part VI, Chapter 553, 1975 supplement to
the Florida State Statutes within the counties and municipalities of
the State of Florida,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF
NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA:
Section 1. That the Florida State Legislature is strongly
urged to enact a mandatory State Wide Certification program for
Construction Code Enforcement Officials and that the program enacted
be the same as the Voluntary Certification Program currently sponsored
by the Building Officials Association of Florida.
Section 2. This Resolution shall take effect immediately
upon passage.
