A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORTH PALM BEACH,
FLORIDA, DECLARING THE RESULTS OF THE GENERAL ELECTION HELD ON MARCH
16, 1971.
WHEREAS, on the 16th day of March, 1971, a General Election
was held in the Village of North Palm Beach, Florida for the purpose
of electing Councilmen to the Village Council for Groups 2, 4 and 5, and
WHEREAS, by due resolution the following named persons were
appointed Inspectors and Clerks of said election:
Faith Lutheran Church. Precinct No. 48:
Inspectors:
Esther Bricker
Grete McBride
Faye Lucas
Virginia Tracy
Clerk: Elizabeth Redding
Council Chambers, Village Hall, Precinct No. 49:
Inspectors:
Ralph Cohn
Lillian Drudi
Margaret Fick
Mary Allen
Clerk: Jane Jenkins
Elk's Lodge No. 2069. Precincts No. 50 and 52:
Inspectors: Ruth Brush
Thelma Wilson
Jean Ford
Millicent Walter
Clerk: Louise Nash
and,
WHEREAS, on March 16, 1971 said Inspectors and Clerks, after
taking and subscribing their oaths in accordance with law, made their
returns to the Village Council, which returns certified that the follow-
ing are the results of said General Election, to -wit:
Total Machine Votes: 1067
Total Absentee Votes: 6
Total Write-in Votes: 0
For Village Councilman. Groun 2 (2-year term)
Mervin H. McIntyre received 484 votes
Thomas B. Rhodes received 556 votes
For Village Councilman, Group 4: (2-year term)
Robert F. Slater received 799 votes
For Village Councilman, Group 5: (1-year term)
Walter L. Huckeba received
Robert W. Martin received
James P. O'Flarity received
and,
187 votes
549 votes
321 votes
WHEREAS, the Village Council has duly canvassed the returns
of said General Election and finds that the returns of the Inspectors
and Clerks of said election are true and correct tabulations of the
votes cast;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF
NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The Village Council finds and declares that the
following are the results of the General Election of March 16, 1971:
For Village Councilman, Group 2:
Mervin H. McIntyre received 484 votes
Thomas B. Rhodes received
For Village Councilman, Group 4:
Robert F. Slater received
For Village Councilman, Group 5:
Walter L. Huckeba received
Robert W. Martin received
James P. O'Flarity received
556 votes
799 votes
187 votes
549 votes
321 votes
Section 2. That the following candidates are hereby declared
to be elected to the respective offices as follows:
Village Councilman, Group 2:
Thomas B. Rhodes
Village Councilman, Group 4:
Robert F. Slater
Village Councilman, Group 5:
Robert W. Martin
PASSED AND ADOPTED THIS 17TH DAY OF MARCH, 1971.
