A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORTH PALM BEACH,
FLORIDA, EXPRESSING ITS OBJECTION TO ANY COUNTY -WIDE OCCUPATIONAL
LICENSE ORDINANCES FOR MUNICIPALITIES.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORTH PALM
BEACH, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The Village Council of North Palm Beach, in
accordance with its policy of opposing any attempts to remove customary
and valuable municipal responsibilities from the cities to more
centralized governmental agencies, hereby expresses its objection to
any legislation enacted by the Florida Legislature which would place
the Village of North Palm Beach occupational licenses under a single
county law. The Village Council reiterates its belief that munici-
palities have different needs because they are composed of citizens
with different financial, cultural and other standards, and that to
require all municipalities to be governed by a least common denominator
is contrary to the highest ideals of American government.
