A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORTH PALM BEACH,
FLORIDA, SUPPORTING THE AMBULANCE SERVICE OF THE INTER -CITY FIRST AID
SQUAD AND ADVISING THE PALM BEACH COUNTY LEGISLATIVE DELEGATION,
THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF PALM BEACH COUNTY AND MUNICIPALITIES
INVOLVED THAT THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH OBJECTS TO ANY INTER-
FERENCE WITH THE AMBULANCE SERVICE PRESENTLY PROVIDED BY THE INTER-
CITY FIRST AID SQUAD OR ANY ADDITIONAL TAXES PLACED UPON THE RESIDENTS
OF THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH FOR SUCH SERVICE.
WHEREAS, the Inter -City First Aid Squad, a voluntary organi-
zation, has provided ambulance service to the residents of the
Village of North Palm Beach for many years, and
WHEREAS, the Legislative Delegation to the Florida Legis-
lature from Palm Beach County and the Board of County Commissioners
of Palm Beach County are contemplating some type of County involvement
in ambulance service, and
WHEREAS, the residents of' the Village of North Palm Beach
are pleased with the current ambulance service provided by the Inter -
City First Aid Squad and do not desire the County to take any action
which will increase the cost of ambulance service or adversely affect
its efficiency;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL
OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The Legislative Delegation to the 1970 Florida
Legislature from Palm Beach County and the Board of County Commissioners
of Palm Beach County are hereby requested to take no action which
will interfere with the ambulance service currently provided by the
Inter -City First Aid Squad to the residents of the Village of North
Palm Beach or which will place additional taxes on persons served
by the Inter -City First Aid Squad or which will in any way adversely
affect the efficiency and service provided to the residents of the
Village of North Palm Beach and surrounding areas by the Inter -City
First Aid Squad.
Section 2. The Village Clerk is hereby directed to furnish
a certified copy of this Resolution to the members of the Legislative
Delegation to the 1970 Florida Legislature from Palm Beach County,
to the members of the Board of County Commissioners of Palm Beach
County and to the Mayors of all municipalities served by the Inter -
City First Aid Squad.
