A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORTH PALM BEACH,
FLORIDA, EXPRESSING THE OPPOSITION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORTH
PALM BEACH, FLORIDA TO ANY COUNTY -WIDE LICENSING OPERATION WITHIN
MUNICIPALITIES, AND IN PARTICULAR TO THE LEGISLATION PROPOSE])
BY ASSOCIATED GENERAL CONTRACTORS OF PALM BEACH COUNTY.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORTH PALM
BEACH, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The Village Council of North Palm Beach,
Florida strongly opposes any attempts to remove from the munici-
pality the licensing control over businesses which operate within
the Village of North Palm Beach, since it believes that government
which is closest to the people best serves the community.
Section 2. The Village Council of North Palm Beach
therefore urges the Palm Beach County Delegation to the Florida
Legislature to reject the legislation proposed by the Associated
General Contractors of Palm Beach County which would remove local
licensing control over contractors from the municipalities and
repose such control under the county government.
Section 3. The Village Clerk is hereby directed to submit
a certified copy of this Resolution to the members of the Palm
Beach County Delegation to the Florida Legislature, to the Chairman
of the Palm Beach County Commission and to the Palm Beach County
Municipal League.
