Norris, Vice Mayor Darryl Aubrey, Sc.D., President Pro Tem Edward M. Eissey, Ph.D., Councilman T.R. Hernacki, P.E., Councilman Melissa Teal, CMC, Village Clerk Jimmy Knight, Village Manager Mayor Manuel called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. All members of Council were present. All members of staff were present, except the Village Attorney. PURPOSE OF THE SPECIAL SESSION The purpose of the Special Session was to interview applicants and make appointments to the Golf Advisory Board. APPLICANT INTERVIEWS The following persons were interviewed by the Village Council: Tedra Harring SELECTION OF APPLICANTS Joseph Gorman Jon Begin Councilman Eissey made a motion to move the current alternates, Jim Bender and Tim Peters, up to regular member positions. Councilman Hernacki seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. Mayor Manuel reviewed the Women's Golf Association (WGA) recommendation for its representative. Mayor Manuel noted that Jeannette Campbell, currently serving as the WGA representative, has endorsed the WGA's recommendation that Tedra Harring be appointed as its representative. Councilman Eissey moved to appoint Tedra Harring as the WGA representative to the Golf Advisory Board. President Pro Tem Aubrey seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. Discussion ensued on whether a resignation letter from Jeannette Campbell was needed. Mrs. Campbell's application, which requested that Council consider Mrs. Harring for the position of WGA representative and herself as a resident member, was deemed her resignation. It was clarified that Jim Bender will serve as the MGA representative to the Board, and Tim Peters will fill one of the two resident golf member positions, therefore Council will select, by written ballot, a resident golf member, a 1st alternate, and a 2nd alternate. Minutes of Village Council Special Session held January 29, 2009 Page 2 of 2 • • By written ballot (attached to the minutes of record), the Council appointed Joseph Gorman as resident golf member, Jon Begin as 1st alternate, and Jeannette Campbell as 2nd alternate to the Golf Advisory Board. Thereafter, the names of Joseph Gorman, Jon Begin, and Jeannette Campbell were entered into Resolution 2009-08. RESOLUTION 2009-08 ADOPTED — APPOINTING MEMBERS TO GOLF ADVISORY BOARD Councilman Eissey moved that Resolution 2009-08 entitled A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA, APPOINTING MEMBERS TO THE GOLF ADVISORY BOARD; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE be adopted. President Pro Tem Aubrey seconded the motion, which passed unanimously.
