HomeMy WebLinkAbout10-16-1969 VC PH2-MPresent: MINUTES OF PUBLIC HEARING OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA HELD THURSDAY, OCTOBER 16, 1969 Thomas_F. Lewis, Mayor Thomas R. Bell, Vice -Mayor Allan V. Everard, Councilman H. Mallory Privett, Jr., Councilman Herbert A. Watt, Councilman Herbert L. Gildan, Village Attorney Lawrence J. Robbins, Village Manager acting as Deputy Village Clerk Mayor Lewis called the Public Hearing to order at 8:00 p.m. and asked the Village Manager to call the roll, all members being present. The purpose of the Public Hearing was to review and to answer all questions concerning the proposed appropriations and budgeted items for fiscal year 1969-70 for the Village of North Palm Beach and the North Palm Beach Country Club. Village Manager read Notice of Public Hearing which was published in the Palm Beach Post on October 1, 1969 and posted as required by Village Charter. Through the use of a Vue-Graph machine, departmental recap information was provided on a screen for viewing by those residents in attendance. Mayor Lewis recapped each department and the categories of expenditures reflected for the information of the public. In all instances where questions were raised concerning the proposed Village budget, responses were made by the Mayor and/or Village Manager. Upon completion of the presentation of the budget, the Mayor reviewed and enlightened those in attendance with a complete explanation of the proposed revenues for the forthcoming fiscal year. In addition, he recapped those major items which the Council in- cluded in the forthcoming budget. Due to prior commitments, Mayor Lewis and Councilman Watt left the Public Hearing. Vice -Mayor Bell recapped the North Palm Beach Country Club budget for the benefit of the public, and responses to questions raised were answered by the General Manager of the Club, Mr. Dennis Setter - field. Upon completion of the review of revenues and ex- penditures for the Country Club, on motion of Councilman Privett, seconded by Councilman Everard, all present voting aye, the Public Hearing was adjourned at 9:35 p.m. Minutes recorded by: Lawrence J.
