Lewis, Mayor Thomas R. Bell, Vice -Mayor David C. Clark, Councilman Allan V. Everard, Councilman Herbert A. Watt, Councilman Lawrence J. Robbins, Village Manager Dolores R. Walker, Village Clerk Herbert L. Gildan, Village Attorney Mayor Lewis called the Public Hearing to order at 8:20 p.m. and asked the Village Clerk to call the roll, all members being present except Village Attorney Gildan. Mayor Lewis stated that the purpose of this Public Hearing was to answer any inquiries on the proposed Village budget and the proposed Country Club budget for the 1967-68 fiscal year. Village Clerk read Notice of Public Hearing on the proposed 1967-68 fiscal budget, dated October 11, 1967, and signed by the Village Council of North Palm Beach, Florida- This notice was posted in three conspicuous places - namely, the bulletin board outside Village Hall, the bulletin board inside Village Hall and the bulletin board at the North Palm Beach Country Club. There were questions posed by the following persons relative to the proposed Village budget and proposed Country Club budget for the 1967-68 fiscal year: Betty Redding 713 Sandpaper Way Vernon Ayers 717 Jacana Way Mrs. J. A. Greuling 712 Nighthawk Way These questions were answered by the Mayor, Village Manager, Country Club Manager and members of the Country Club Board of Governors and, in each instance, the inquirer was satisfied with the explanation. Mr. Guy Pearson, 120 Lehane Terrace, and Mr. Herman Page, 508 Eastwand Drive, representing the Senior Citizens group, asked the Council if they could have an acoustical tile ceiling in- stalled in the Senior Citizens Building rather than the air con- ditioner for which the Council had appropriated funds in the proposed 1967-68 budget. They stated that when they have large groups in this building the acoustics are very poor, and they would prefer having this situation remedied rather than having the building air conditioned. They also stated they needed a new water cooler more than an air conditioner. Mayor Lewis asked the Village Manager to check the cost of having this ceiling installed and also the cost of a new water cooler, and if the total cost of these two items did not exceed the amount appropriated in the budget for the air con- ditioner, Council agreed to proceed on this basis.
