VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORTH PALM BEACH

November 12, 1963

The meeting was called to order at 8:00 p,m, by Mayor Tatoul and
the Acting Clerk was requested to call the roll, All members were present,
• Mayor Tatoul requested the Clerk to read the minutes of a regular
meeting of the Village Council held October 8, 1963. These minutes were
amended to show that the rules were waived and proposed Ordinance #83 was
placed on second reading. The minutes were approved as amended. The
Clerk read the minutes of an Adjourned Meeting of the Village Council of
North Palm Beach held October 24, 1963, and were approved as read.
Mayor Tatoul read a letter from Mr. James Owens regarding the
forthcoming Christmas in Dixie Parade and stated that the second annual
Christmas in Dixie parade this year and they would again like to have the
officials of the Village to participate in the parade and anyone interested
in having a float in the parade should contact Mr. Owens as soon as possible.
Mayor Tatoul then read a letter from Mr, Fullerton advising the
Council that the Village is Mill in need of a Civil Defense Director and
that anyone interested should contact the Village Manager.
The Village Treasurer read the Treasurer's Report for the month
of October,
On motion of Councilman Bell, seconded by Councilman Aiello, all
members voting aye, proposed Resolution #179 entitled
A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE
VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA,
APPOINTING A VILLAGE CLERK FOR SUCH VILLAGE.
was adopted.
On motion of Councilman Beery, seconded by Councilman Hahn, all
members voting aye, proposed Resolution #180, entitled
A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE
VILLAGE OF NORTH''PALM BEACH, FLORIDA,
AUTHORIZING SHE ESTABLISHMENT OF A BANK
• ACCOUNT AND PROVIDING WHO SHALL BE AUTHORIZED
TO SIGN CHECKS THEREON,
was adopted. This Resolution designated the First American Bank of North
Palm Beach as the depository of funds for the Village.
The Village Manager recommended that the firm of Calloway, Carpenter,
and May be retained as auditors for the Village for the fiscal year 1968-1964
' as outlined in their proposal of November 1, 1963. On motion of Councilman
Belli s~~onded by Councilman Beery, all members voting aye, the recommenda-
tion was adopted.
The Village Manager read a letter from the North Palm Beach Garden
Club recommending that the Council appoint the following people to the
Village Beautification Committee: Dr. John J. Richardson, Mrs. Louis Enders,
and Mr, James D, Blakely. The Council instructed the Village Attorney to
draw up an appropriate Resolution appointing Beautification Committee and
' describing their duties and responsibilities.
Some ten citizens spoke to the Council on various subjects.
There being no further business to come before the Council, on motion
of Councilman Bell, seconded by Councilman Aiello, all members voting aye,
the meeting was adjourned at 10:00 p.m.
