HomeMy WebLinkAbout04-02-1962 VC SP-M• 1 1 • • • Present: MINUTES OF A SPECIAL MEETING of the VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORTH PALM BEACH held APRIL 2, 1962 Walter E. Thomas, Mayor Louis J. Aiello, Jr., Councilman Charles M. Bowman, Councilman Warren P. Tatoul, Councilman -elect Albin R. Olson, Village Clerk Absent: Frank J. Hahn, Councilman In compliance with Section 9, Article III of the Village Charter, the organizational meeting of the Village Council was held at the Village Hall at 8:00 p.m. The oath of office was administered Councilman -elect Louis J. Aiello, Jr., and Warren P. Tatoul On motion of Councilman Aiello, seconded by Councilman Tatoul, all members voting aye, Walter E. Thomas was elected Mayor, Charles M. Bowman was elected Vice -Mayor. On motion of Vice -Mayor Bowman, seconded by Councilman Tatoul, all members voting aye, the following officers were appointed: Albin R. Olson, Village Clerk; Louis J. Aiello, Jr., Tax Collector; Albin R. Olson, Treasurer. On motion of Councilman Aiello, seconded by Councilman Tatoul, all members voting aye, proposed Resolution #131 entitled: A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH, PALM BEACH COUNTY, FLORIDA, APPOINTING CERTAIN OFFICERS FOR SUCH VILLAGE. was adopted. The matter of bids received for the construction of the North Palm Beach Country Club facilities was reviewed. On motion of Councilman Aiello, seconded by Vice -Mayor Bowman, all members voting aye, the Village Manager was instructed to forward notice of award to the Thomas Hodges Construction Company, Fort Lauderdale, the low bidder for the construction of the Country Club building and swimming pool facilities in the amount of $285,600., and atlas Air Conditioning Corporation, the low bidder for the installation of the air conditioning equipment, in the amount of $22,738. On motion of Vice -Mayor Bowman, seconded by Councilman Tatoul, all members voting aye, the Village Manager was instructed to renew expiring Recreational Facility Account Certificates of Deposit as follows: $100,000. for 90 days, $60,000. for 60 days.
