Mayor Manuel called the meeting to order at 9:05 p.m. All members of Council were present.
All members of staff were present.
TENNIS FACILITY
Discussion was held concerning proposed concept for a new tennis facility at the North Palm
Beach Country Club. Village Manager Jimmy Knight reviewed the proposed interior floor plan
for an approximately 1428 square feet tennis facility, which would accommodate 175 tennis
members. Mr. Knight noted a projected cost of $241,000. Mr. Knight reported that the existing
building will be demolished, sidewalks from the new facility to the tennis courts will be re -done,
and a prefabricated building will be used for storage.
During discussion of the floor plan, the consensus of Council was to consider a larger building
than currently proposed. Additional concerns expressed were the number of toilets, need for
separate men's and women's restrooms, and location/screening of soda machines.
Mr. Knight will contact the architect who designed the tennis facility in Palm Beach Gardens
regarding the cost to revise the plans used for that building. Mr. Knight advised that if the cost
exceeds $10,000, a Request for Qualifications will be issued, presentations by the submitting
firms will be held, and Council will select an architect to design the building.
ADJOURNMENT
With no further business to come before the Council, the meeting adjourned at 9:32 p.m.
