Hernacki, P.E., Councilman Melissa Teal, CMC, Village Clerk Jimmy Knight, Public Safety Director Mayor Eissey called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. All members of Council were present. All members of staff were present, except the Village Attorney. PURPOSE OF THE SPECIAL SESSION The purpose of the Special Session was to interview applicants and make appointments to the Recreation Advisory Board and the Golf Advisory Board. The following persons were present for interviews by the Village Council: John Archetti Dianna Craven Chris Kogstrom Jeannette Campbell James Bender Ken Foster Donald Urbanski Reynolds Beckwith Richard Bowman Russell Beverstein Don Boese C. Smillie Buckland Dean Dziczkowski John Gruen Alan Mayer Joe O'Hagan Tim Peters Lewis Piccioli Kerry Keena RECREATION ADVISORY BOARD Vice Mayor Manuel moved to appoint Mark Finney as a regular member and Carolyn Stone as 1st alternate to the Recreation Advisory Board. The motion was seconded by President Pro Tem Norris and passed unanimously. By consensus, the Council decided to vote on each membership category as it arose. By consensus, the Council decided to vote for two people in round one and vote on the top selections in round two. By written ballot (attached to the minutes of record), the Council appointed Dianna Craven as 2nd alternate to the Recreation Advisory Board. Thereafter, the names of Mark Finney, Carolyn Stone, and Dianna Craven were entered into Resolution 2008-07. Minutes of Village Council Special Session held January 22, 2008 Page 2 of 2 • • • GOLF ADVISORY BOARD Discussion took place on the intent of the Council with regard to the composition of the Golf Advisory Board. Council consensus was that in addition to the membership categories specified in Ordinance 2007-20, one position should be filled by a Village resident who is not a member of the Country Club. President Pro Tem Norris moved to appoint Jeannette Campbell as the representative from the Women's Golf Association to the Golf Advisory Board. Councilman Aubrey seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. By written ballot (attached to the minutes of record), the Council appointed Ken Foster as the representative from the Men's Golf Association, Richard Bowman as the non-resident Country Club golf member, Joe O'Hagan as the resident Country Club golf member, Kerry Keena as the resident non-member, James Bender as 1st alternate, and Lewis Piccioli as 2nd alternate to the Golf Advisory Board. Thereafter, the names of those appointed were entered into Resolution 2008-07. RESOLUTION 2008-07 ADOPTED — APPOINTING MEMBERS TO GOLF ADVISORY BOARD AND RECREATION ADVISORY BOARD Vice Mayor Manuel moved that Resolution 2008-07 entitled A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA, APPOINTING MEMBERS TO THE GOLF ADVISORY BOARD AND RECREATION ADVISORY BOARD; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE be adopted. President Pro Tem Norris seconded the motion, which passed unanimously.
