AN ORDINANCE OF THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA,
AMENDING CHAPTER 11 OF THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH CODE, THE ELECTRICAL
CODE FOR THE VILLAGE, BY ADOPTING BY REFERENCE THERETO THE NATIONAL
ELECTRIC CODE, 1984 EDITION, AND SETTING FORTH AMENDMENTS TO SAID NATIONAL
ELECTRIC CODE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORTH PALM BEACH FLORIDA:
Section 1. Section 11-11 of the Village of North Palm Beach Code
is hereby amended to read as fellows:
"Sec. 11-11. ADOPTED BY REFERENCE -- Under the authority of
Section 163.295, Florida Statutes, the Village of North Palm
Beach hereby adopts by reference thereto the National Electric
Code, 1984 Edition, and the recommended amendments of the
Building Code Advisory Board of Palm Beach County, as the
electrical code for the Village. There has been for at least
ten days last past and shall be during the time that this code
is in effect, three copies of such code and recommended
amendments kept available for public use, inspection and
examination."
Section 2. Section 11-12 of the Village of North Palm Beach Code
is hereby amended to read as follows:
"Sec. 11-12. AMENDMENTS, CORRECTIONS AND ADDITIONS-- The
following amendments, corrections and additions to the
recommended amendments of the Building Code Advisory Board
of Palm Beach County are hereby made and adopted, said
amendments, corrections and additions being set forth herein
with reference to and prefaced by the section number and
title of said amendments, as follows:
80-6(c)(3) - Schedule of Permit Fees. Delete the first
paragraph and substitute the following:
On all electrical work requiring a permit as set
forth in 80-5, fees shall be paid as required at the
time of filing application in accordance with the following
schedule:

ELECTRICAL PERMIT FEE SCHEDULE
1. ALL NEW CONSTRUCTION
The master electrical permit fee for a SINGLE BUILDING (as per specifications and plans)
shall be as follows:

For every ampere over 2000 an additional charge will be computed as follows:
530.00 for each 100 amps above 2000 single phase
542.00 for each 100 amps above 2000 if 240V or 208V30
S60.00 for each 100 amps above 2000 if 480V30
For building shell and meter center only that does not Include wiring of individual units, the
permit fee shall be 1/2 of the above schedule.
II. TEMPORARY SERVICE
(a) 200 ampere inclusive 15.00
(b) each additional 100 ampere 3.50
On service of 200 amps or less. temporary service will .be Included with regular service
permit for building or shell.
III. CHANGE OF SERVICE & PANEL
200 ampere and under 15.00
each additional 100 ampere or fraction thereof over 200 ampere 5.00
After completion o? shell. each bay. office or area completed will be rated at fee schedule
under NUMBER 1.
THE PERMIT FEES FOR INDIVIDUAL UNITS SHALL CONFORM WITH SCHEDUE IV
BELOW.
IV, REMODELING AND/OR ADDITIONAL WIRING
1. MINIMUM FEE
Commerical - minimum electric permit for commercial will be $15.00 per tenancy (1 to 10
outlets). For every outlet over 10. an additional 75( per outlet shall be charged In addition to
the minimum permit.
Residential • minimum electric permit for residential well be S15.00 per tenancy (1 to 10
outlets). Fox every outlet over 10. an additional 50( per outlet shall be charged in addition to
the minimum permit.

80-8 - Viblations and Penalties. Delete entirely.
Article 230-43 -- Add to existing paragraph:
This paragraph shall not apply to single family dwellings
or primary cable on any buildings so long as the services are
installed ,operated and maintained by a franchised utility
company."

Section 3. Any person, firm, or corporation who shall violate a
provision of this Ordinance, or fail to comply therewith, or with any of
the requirements thereof, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor. Each such
person shall be deemed guilty of a separate offense for each and every
day or portion thereof during which any violation of any of the provisions
of this Ordinance is committed or continued, and upon conviction of any
such violation, such person shall be punished by a fine not exceeding five
hundred dollars ($500.00) or imprisonment for a term not exceeding six (6)
months, or by both such fine and imprisonment.
Section 4. This Ordinance shall take effect immediately upon
passage.
