Thomas, Mayor William Young, Vice -Mayor Louis J. Aiello, Councilman Frank J. Hahn, Councilman Emery J. Newell, Councilman Albin R. Olson, Village Manager and Clerk C. Robert Burns, Village Attorney Mayor Thomas called the meeting to order at 8;00 p.m. and requested the Clerk call the roll. Mayor Thomas requested the Clerk read the minutes of a regular meethg of the Village Council held September 13, 1960. The minutes were approved as read. The Treasurer submitted the following report: TREASURER'S REPORT September 12, 1960 CASH ON HAND, September 12, 1960 Permits $1,983.80 Occ. License 577.50 Dog License 7.00 Indv. License 4.00 Boat Dock Fees 150.00 Hoist Key Fees 70.00 Taxes 73.61 Tax Info. 1.00 Court Fines 20.00 Accident Reports 4.00 Street Markers 210.00 Cigarette Tax DEDUCT: Disbursements BALANCE, October 10, 1960 General Cigarette Fund Tax Fund $7,451.89 $ 1,305.04 3.100.91 $10,552.80 8,379.86 $ 2,172.94 1,892.79 $ 3,197.83 $ 3,197.83 The Village Clerk read a communication from Mr. George Voorhees, 532 Anchorage Drive, concerning disturbances created during daylight hours. The Village Manager was instructed to advise Mr. Voorhees that although the Council was sympathetic it could take no legal action to alleviate the problem. On motion of Vice -Mayor Young, seconded by Councilman Hahn, all members voting aye, proposed Resolution #92 entitled A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH SITTING AS A BOARD OF EQUALIZATION OF TAXES RATIFYING AND APPROVING THE TAX ASSESSMENT ROLL FOR THE CALENDAR YEAR 1960 AS PREPARED BY THE VILLAGE TAX ASSESSOR. was adopted. On motion of Councilman Newell, seconded by Councilman Aiello, all members voting aye, proposed Resolution #93 entitled A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA, RATIFYING AND APPROVING A BUDGET FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 1960-1961; FIXING THE AMOUNT OF MONEY TO BE RAISED BY AD VALOREM TAXES FOR THE YEAR; AND FIXING THE AD VALOREM TAX LEVY FOR THE CALENDAR YEAR 1960. was adopted. October 11, 1960 Page 2. The matter of prohibiting the distribution of handbills door-to- door within the village was discussed. Mayor Thomas requested the Village Attorney prepare an ordinance prohibiting such distribution for - Council consideration at'its next meeting. - On motion of Councilman Newell, seconded by Councilman Aiello, all members aye, the list of accounts payable was approved for payment. Mr. Earl 0wnes from the Village Engineers' office attended the meet- ing to report the status of drainage construction in various sectors of the village and to answer questions concerning this matter from the Council and members of the public. There being no further business to come before the Council the meeting was adjourned at 9:00 p.m. Albin R. Olson Village Clerk
