Mayor White called the meeting to order and requested the Clerk call the roll..
Mayor White requested the Clerk read the minutes of a regular meeting of the Village
Council held September 8, 1959. On motion of Vice -Mayor Thomas, seconded by Councilman Ross,
all members voting aye, the minutes were approved as read.
0n motion of Councilman Ross, seconded by Vice -Mayor Thomas, all members voting aye,
the following report of the Treasurer was approved:

On motion of Councilman Ross, seconded by Vice -Mayor Thomas, all members voting
aye, proposed Ordinance f+9 entitled:
AN ORDINANCE OF 'Ilih VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH, PALM BEACH COUNTY,
FLORIDA, AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 20, AS HERETOFORE AMENDED, THE SAME
BEING THE COMPREHENSIVE ZONING ORDINANCE OF SAID VILLAGE, BY SUPPLYING
AN ADDITIONAL DEFINITION UNDER SECTION 2 THEREOF; BY MODIFYING THE
PERMI'rl'ED USE OF PROPERTY ZONED R-1, SINGLE FAMILY DWELLING DISTRICT,
R-2, MUL'iarLE FAMILY DWELLING DISTRICT, AND C-lA, LIMITED COMMERCIAL
DISTRICT; BY MODIFYING THE BUILDING HEIGHT REGULATIONS THEREOF PER-
TAINING TO ZONING CLASSIFICATIONS R-2, MULTIPLE FAMILY DWELLING

On motion of Vice -Mayor Thomas, seconded by Councilman Young, all members voting aye,
proposed Ordinance #k9 was approved as read.
The Village Manager discussed the need of the village to purchase a garbage collection
vehicle and stated an offer had been made by the Tom Wood Truck Equipment Co., Inc. of Miami,
to sell a demonstrator unit at a price of $8,998.00.
On motion of Councilman Ross, seconded by Vice -Mayor Thomas, all members voting aye,
the Village Manager was instructed to purchase the unit as proposed and the Village Attorney
requested to prepare the appropriate resolution.
The Village Manager discussed the need of the village to replace the present police
vehicle and stated he had requested bids from local dealers for a 1959 vehicle for Council
consideration.
The bid openings were as follows:

On motion of Vice -Mayor Thomas, seconded by Councilman Young, all members voting aye,
the Village Attorney was requested to prepare a resolution authorizing the Village Manager to
purchase the vehicle from the low bidder.
On motion of Councilman Ross, seconded by Vice -Mayor Thomas, all members voting aye,
the Village Manager was authorized to hire a school patrolwoman for duty in the school vicinity
during the morning and afternoon periods while rhildren are arriving and leaving the school area.
On motion of Vice -Mayor Thomas, seconded by Councilman Young, sll members voting aye,
the Village Attorney was requested to prepare a resolution authorizing the transfer of the
Cigarette Tax Fund account from the Riviera Beach Bank to the First American Bank of North
Palm Beach.

On motion of Councilman Ross, seconded by Vice -Mayor Thomas, all members voting
aye, the Village Manager was authorized to make a charge of one ($1.00) dollar for each
tax certification notice.
On motion of Councilman Ross, seconded by Vice -Mayor Thomas, all members voting
aye, the list of assessments for lot clearing in accordance with Village Ordinance #38
was approved.
On motion of Councilman Ross, seconded by Vice -Mayor Thomas, all members voting
aye, the list of accounts payable was approved for payment.
There being no further business to come before the Council, on motion of Councilman
Ross, seconded by Councilman Young, all members voting aye, the meeting was adjourned at
9:30 p.m.
