MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING OF TEE
VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORTH PALM BEACH
HELD AT THE NORTH PALM BEACH COUNTRY
CLUB SEPTEMBER 8, 1959

Vice -Mayor Thomas called the meeting to order and requested the Clerk call the roll.
Vice -Mayor Thomas requested the Clerk read the minutes of a regular meeting of the
Village Council held July 14, 1959. On motion of Councilman Ross, seconded by Councilman Young,
all members voting aye, the minutes were approved as read.
Vice -Mayor Thomas requested the Clerk read the minutes of a special meeting of the
Village Council held August 31, 1959. On motion of Councilman Young, seconded by Councilman
Ross, All members voting aye, the minutes were approved as read.
On motion of Councilman Ross, seconded by Councilman Young, all members voting aye,
the following report of the Treasurer was approved:

A letter from Brockway, Weber and Brockway addressed to the Council requesting a
bulkhead line be established within the Village along the southeast shore of Lake Worth was
read to the Council.
The Village Attorney was requested to discuss the matter with the County Attorney
and advise the Council concerning the proposed bulkhead line.

On motion of Councilman Ross, seconded by Councilman Young, all members voting
aye, proposed ordinance #48 entitled:
AN ORDINANCE OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF
PALM BEACH COUNTY, FLORIDA, REGULATING
FILLING STATIONS TO CERTAIN STRUCTURES
PROVIDING AN EMOTIVE DATE HEREOF AND
was placed on first reading and read in full.
THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH,
THE PROXIMITY OF GASOLINE OR OIL
OR TO OTHER SUCH FILLING STATIONS,
FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
On motion of Councilman Ross, seconded by Councilman Young, all members voting
aye, proposed Ordinance #4+8 was approved as read.
The Village Manager was instructed to arrange for parkway planting in the area
adjacent the Lighthouse Drive bridge in order to beautify the area.
The matter of the Volunteer Fire Department participating in the Fire Prevention
Week para0P to be held in West Palm Beach was discussed. Because of the distance involved
and the fact the Village has but one piece of equipment the Council felt it inadvisable to
permit the apparatus to leave the Village area.
On motion of Councilman Young, seconded by Vice -Mayor Thomas, all members voting
aye, the Village Manager was instructed to contact North Palm Beach Properties, Inc. to
'arrange an amendment to the Offer to Dedicate accepted by the Village on January 7, 1957,
providing that no dolphin, mooring pile or tie pole be placed more than 25 feet beyond the
bulkhead of lots abutting the North Palm Beach Waterway.
On motion of Councilman Ross, seconded by Councilman Young, all members voting
aye, the bid of the Security Life and Trust Company for village employee hospitalization
insurance was accepted.
On motion of Councilman Ross, seconded by Vice -Mayor Thomas, all members voting
aye, the Village Clerk was instructed to advertise a public hearing for purposes of consider-
ing changes to the zoning ordinance.
The list of accounts payable was approved for payment on motion of Councilman Ross,
seconded by Councilman Young, all members voting aye.
There being no further business to come before the Council, on motion of Councilman
Ross, seconded by Councilman Yong, all members voting aye, the meeting was adjourned at
9:15 p.m.
