VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORTH PALM BEACH
HELD AT NORTH PALM BEACH COUNTRY
CLUB ON JULY 14, 1959

Absent: Richard E. Ross, Councilman
C. Robert Burns, Village Attorney
Mayor White called the meeting to order and requested the Clerk call the roll.
Mayor White requested the Clerk read the minutes of a regular meeting of the Village
Council held June 9, 1959. On motion of Vice -Mayor Thomas, seconded by Councilman Cunningham,
all members voting aye, the minutes were approved as read.
On motion of Councilman Cunningham, seconded by Councilman Young, al/ members voting
aye, the following repucl, of the Treasurer was approved:

A letter addressed to the Council signed by representatives of the North Palm Beach
Garden Club, the North Palm Beach Lion's Club, the Women's Social Club of North Palm Beach, the
North Palm Beach Civic Association, and the North Palm Beach Branch of American Association of
University Women requesting arrangements be made whereby these organizations would be allowed
use of the village mimeographing machine was read by the Village Clerk.
On motion of Vice -Mayor Thomas, seconded by Councilman Young, all members voting aye,
the Village Manager was instructed to allow the mimeograph machine be used for the purpose of
preparing announcements by these organizations until such time as use becomes a burden on the
village.

On motion of Councilman Young, seconded by Vice -Mayor Thomas, all members voting aye,
the following were appointed members to the Contractor's Board of Examiners provided for in
Ordinance f'16:
Robert W. Wenning, Jr. - 3 years
Edgar H. Latham, Jr. - 2 years
Wallace G. Carver - 1 year
Sealed bids were opened for the purchase of a tractor equipped with one rotary grass
cutter with the folowing bids received:
Sriver Tractor Company:
(a) Ford Model 641 with cutter : $ 2,364.00
(b) Ford Model 631 with cutter : 2,201.60
Faircloth Truck and Tractor Company:
(a) International Model 4240 with
cutter: $ 2,507.79
0n motion of Councilman Young, seconded by Councilman Cunningham, Mayor White voting
aye, Vice -Mayor Thomas abstaining, the Village Manager was instructed to purchase the tractor
which in his discretion would best serve the village needs.
Bids received for a proposed group hospitalization insurance policy for village
employees were opened and read by the Village Clerk.
Mayor White appointed a committee comprised of Mayor White, Vice -Mayor Thomas, and
Councilman Young to review the bids and submit a recommendation to the Council.
The list of accounts payable was approved for payment on motion of Councilman Young,
seconded by Vice -Mayor Thomas.
There being no further business to come before the meeting, on motion of Vice -Mayor
Thomas, seconded by Councilman Young, all members voting aye, the meeting was aajourned to meet
on September 8 at 8:00 p.m.
