MINUTES OF A SPECIAL MEETING OF TEE
VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORTH PALM BEACH
HELD APRIL 6, 1959
Richard E. Ross, Mayor
Jay H. White, Vice -Mayor
Charles A. Cunningham, Councilman
Walter E. Thomas, Councilman
William Young, Councilman
Albin R. Olson, Village Manager
and Clerk
Wallis E. Schulle, for
C. Robert Burns, Village Attorney
In compliance with Section 9, Article III of the Village Charter, an organizational
meeting of the Village Council was held at the North Palm Beach Country Club on April 6, 1959,
at 8:00 p:m.
The oath of office was Pdministered Councilmen -elect Walter E. Thomas and William
Young.
On motion of Councilman. Thomas, seconded by Councilman Cunningham, all members
voting aye, Vice -Mayor Jay H. White was appointed Mayor.
On motion of Councilman Young, seconded by Councilman Ross, all members voting
aye, Councilman Thomas was appointed Vice -Mayor.
On motion of Councilman Thomas, seconded by Councilman Cunningham, all members
voting, aye, Albin R. Olson was appointed Village Treasurer.
On motion of Councilman Thomas, seconded by Councilman Ross, all members voting aye,
proposed Resolution #58 entitled:
A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF "Mil, VILLAGE OF NORTE PALM BEACH,
PALM BEACH COUNTY, FLORIDA, APPOINTING CERTAIN On sCER FOR SUCH VILLAGE.
was adopted.
The matter of the appointment of a committee to further examine the feasibility of
a beach area for the use of village residents was discussed.
Mayor White appointed all Council members a committee to investigate the matter and
named Vice -Mayor Thomas Chairman.
There being no further business to cone before the Council, on motion of Councilman
Cunningham, seconded by Councilman Ross, all members voting aye, the meeting was adjourned
at 8:30 p.m.
