HELD AT 'Tab NORTH PALM BEACH COUNTRY
CLUB ON DECENBER 23, 1958

Mayor Ross called the meeting to order and requested the Clerk call the roll.
Mayor Ross requested the Clerk read the minutes of a regular meeting of the Village
Coun:11 held December 9, 1958. 0n motion of Councilman Schwencke, seconded by Councilman Ross,
all members voting aye, the minutes were approved as read.
Mayor Ross complimented the Volunteer Fire Department for their initiative and
expr:ssed the appreciation of the Council for the efforts expended by the fire members in
conducting a Christmas party for the children in the village.
On motion of Vice -Mayor White, seconded by Councilman Ross, all members voting aye,
the :'ollowing report of the Village Treasurer was approved:

FOR MUNICIPALITIES;" PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR VIOLATION OF THE PRO-

AN ORDINANCE OF THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH, PALM BEACH COUNTY, FLORIDA,
AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 20, '1'ah. SAME BEING 'Tus COMPREHENSIVE ZONING ORDINANCE
OF THE VILLAGE, BY REMOVING CERTAIN PROPERTY FROM ZONING CLASSIFICATION "R-1,"
SINGLE FAMILY DWELLING DISTRICT; AND RECLASSIFYING SAID PROPERTY AS "R-3,"
APARTMENT DWELLING DISTRICT; BY DIRECTING 'I71L VILLAGE MANAGER TO APPROPRIATELY

ORDINANCE OF SAID VTLTAGE, BY PRESCRIBING INTERIM ZONING FOR LANDS WHICH ARE
I'.tih SUBJECT OF ANNEXATION ORDINANCES; MODIFYING 'i'HH YARD SPACE REQUIREMENTS
IN THE C-lA AND C-1 AND C-2 DISTRICTS; PROVIDING AN ADDITIONAL PERMI'1'11D USE

A motion by Councilman Ross, seconded by Councilman Schwencke, that the first
paragraph on page 4 (immediately preceding Section 2) of proposed Ordinance #35 be amended
so a: to include certain enumerated performance standards and that proposed Ordinance #35
as sc, amended be enacted was passed with all members voting aye..
The matter of the increased speed limits recently established by the State Road
Department on that section of U. S. Highway #1 located within the village was discussed.
Becaa.se of the increased village traffic in the area, the Village Manager was instructed to
conts,ct the State Road Department to request it re -study the present speed limit and consider
lowezing the speed limits to the previous maximum of 45 miles per hour.
On motion of Councilman Schwencke, seconded by Councilman Ross, all members voting
aye, the list of accounts payable was approved for payment.
There being no further business to come before the Council, on motion of Councilman
Schwencke, seconded by Councilman Ross, all members voting aye, the meeting was adjourned at
9:10 p.m. to meet at 8:00 p.m. January 13, 1959.
