Ross, Mayor - Jay H. White, Vice -Mayor Herbert A. Ross, Councilman Wallis E. Schulle, for C. Robert Burns, Village Attorney Albin R. Olson, Village Manager and Village Clerk Charles A. Cunningham, Councilman John A. Schwencke, Councilman Mayor Ross called the meeting to order and requested the Clerk call the roll. Mayor Ross requested the Clerk read the minutes of a regular meeting of the Village Council held July 22, 1958. On motion of Councilman Ross, seconded by Vice - Mayor White, all members voting aye, the minutes were approved as read. Mayor Ross requested the Village Clerk read the minutes of a special meeting of the Village Council held on August 18, 1958, for the purpose of considering a proposed Resolution #45 authorizing and directing the Village Manager to sign a certain plat. CARVER AS A MEMBER OF THE ARCHITECTURAL COMMITTEE OF SAID VILLAGE was adopted. On motion of Councilman Ross, seconded by Vice -Mayor White, all members voting aye, proposed Ordinance #35 entitled: AN ORDINANCE OF THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH, PALM BEACH COUNTY, FLORIDA, AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 20, AS HERETOFORE AMENDED, BEING THE COMPREHENSIVE ZONING ORDINANCE OF SAID VILLAGE, BY ESTABLISHING AN ADDITIONAL USE DISTRICT TO BE DESIGNATED C-1M, COMMERCIAL AND MOBILE HOME DISTRICT; PRESCRIBING INTERIM ZONING FOR LANDS WHICH ARE THE SUBJECT OF ANNEXATION ORDINANCES; MODIFYING THE YARD SPACE REQUIREMENTS IN THE C-LA AND C-1 AND C-2 DISTRICTS; PROVIDING AN kCAN'"ADDITIONAL:PERMITTED USE IN THE C-2 DISTRICT; BY REMOVING CERTAIN LAND FROM Ti! Following thereading of proposed Ordinance #35, Mayor Ross invited the public to voice their opinion concerning any section of the proposed ordinance. Each section of the ordinance was discussed separately and opinions were expressed from the floor. At the conclusion of the discussions, on motion of Vice -Mayor White, seconded by Councilman Ross, all members voting aye, it was voted proposed ordinance #35 be amended by deleting Section 8-A , Commercial an Mobile Home District. On mtion of Councilman Ross, seconded by Vice -Mayor White, all members voting aye, proposed Ordinance #35 as amended was passed on first reading. • On motion of Councilman Ross, seconded by Vice -Mayor White, all members voting aye, the Village Manager was authorized to make arrangements whereby the village fire siren would be aliied with the police radio system by means of a telephone line comnected with the Town of Riviera Beach police department. The Village Manager noted that several requests had been received concerning applications for a liquor license to operate a package store within the village and requested the Council's policy concerning this matter. The Council instructed the Village Attorney look into the matter of the issuance of liquor license applications and report his findings at the next meeting. • Minutes August 26, 1958 Page 3. 0n motion of Councilman Ross, seconded by Vice -Mayor White, all members voting aye, the list of accounts payable was approved for payment. There being no further business to come before the Council, on motion of Councilman Ross, seconded by Vice -Mayor White, all members voting aye, the meeting was addourned at 11:20 p.m. to meet at 8:00 p.m., September 23, 1958, at the North Palm Beach Country Club.
