AN ORDINANCE OF THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA, AMENDING
CHAPTER 12, ARTICLE III, OF THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH CODE BY ADDING
SECTION 12-32 .wnrt,ceuruJv EMERGENCY MEDICAL TECHNICIAN VOLUNTEERS.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORTH PAIM BEACH,
FLORIA4:
Section 1. Chapter 12, Article III, of the Village of North Palm
Beach Code is hereby amended by adding Section 12-32 to read as follows:
"Section 12-32. Emergency Medical Technician Volunteers. The
membership of this unit shall consist of able-bodied individuals who are Floridh
State Certified Eb ergency Medical Technicians, Florida State Certified Para-
medics or duly licensed physicians appointed by the Director of Public Safety
and who are willing to serve on a voluntary basis. Determination as to whether
candidates for appointment are physically qualified shall be made by the
Director after a medical examination in a manner prescribed by the Director
and approved by the Village Menager. Duties shall consist of riding in the
Advanced Life Support Rescue Vei cle.with the Paramedics and assisting at
emergency medical scenes and performing such other duties as prescribed by
the on duty paramedic employee. Such voluntary members of this unit shall
not be considered employees of the Village but shall be covered by Village
insurance programs while engaged in performing described duties."
Section 2. This Ordinance shall take effect immediately upon
passage.
