We, John David Armstrong, Fire Chief and Robert M. O'Neill, Chief of
Police in our official capacities and representing the Village of North Palm
Beach, take possession of this steel artifact from the World Trade Center.
The artifact is being offered on behalf of John Pedalino, Director of the 9- i i
Foundation by Division Chief Raymond Altman of Boynton Beach Fire
Rescue. We understand that the artifact is considered sacred to our nation's
history and as such affirm that we have neither paid for nor will we sell any
part of this priceless relic. We fully understand that the security of the steel
is incumbent upon us until installed in its proper place as part of a
memorial to those who died in the attacks of 9-11-2001.
