COUNTRY CLUB BUDGET AND PROPOSED RATES
Village Manager Mark Bates reported that the Country Club Advisory Board recommended that
the Village consider giving a family golf membership to Mr. Nicklaus and his immediate family.
Mr. Bates advised that the Country Club Advisory Board has recommended a maximum of 500
golf memberships, with all existing members having the first option to renew, followed by
resident non-members, then non-resident non-members. Discussion took place on the reasons
for limiting the number of memberships, including quality of play and opportunity to play.
Discussion ensued on the projected number of 55,000 rounds of play for the coming year. Mr.
Bates reviewed the proposed rates for fiscal year 2006-2007, as recommended by the Country
Club Advisory Board. Mr. Bates stated that members and residents would receive a 33%
discount off the retail rates. Mr. Bates noted that in addition to paying the debt service, the
pricing structure will allow an additional supervisor for grounds maintenance and an increase in
fertilizer, maintenance and equipment for course operation, while still generating a $100,000
profit and allowing for $200,000 in contingency funds. The Council determined to hold a special
meeting for further discussion on the Country Club budget and rates.
