AN ORDINANCE OF THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA, AMENDING
SECTION 26-29 OF THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH CODE BY INCREASING THE TAX
LEVIED ON THE PURCHASE OF ELECTRICITY, METERED GAS AND BOTTLED GAS (NATURAL,
LIQUEFIED PETROLEUM GAS) WITHIN THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE VILLAGE OF
NORTH PALM BEACH FROM 5% TO 8.75% REPEALING ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT WITH
THIS ORDINANCE, AND SETTING FORTH THE EFFECTIVE DATE OF THIS ORDINANCE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA:
Section 1. Section 26-29 of the Village of North Palm Beach Code
is hereby amended to read as follows:
"Sec. 26-29. UTILITY TAX LEVIED; RATE. A tax in the amount
of eight and three-quarters (8.75%) per cent is hereby imposed
and levied on each and every purchase of electricity, fuel oil,
metered gas and bottled gas (natural liquefied petroleum gas
or manufactured gas) within the corporate limits of the village.
Five (5%) per cent of all moneys derived from such tax shall
be appropriated for recreational purposes only."
Section 2. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
with this Ordinance are hereby required.
Section 3. This ordinance shall take effect October 1, 1979.
