AN ORDINANCE OF THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA,
DECLARING THE INTENT OF THE VILLAGE TO EXERCISE AUTHORITY UNDER
THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT COMPREHENSIVE PLANNING ACT OF 1975, DESIG-
NATING THE LOCAL PLANNING AGENCY AND PROVIDING FOR OTHER
APPROPRIATE MATTERS.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORTH PALM
BEACH, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The Village of North Palm Beach, Florida
hereby declares its intent to exercise authority under the Local
Government Comprehensive Planning Act of 1975 for the total area
of the Village of North Palm Beach.
Section 2. The Planning Commission of the Village of
North Palm Beach is hereby designated and established as the
"Local Planning Agency" in conformity with Chapter 163.3174,
Florida Statutes. The method of choosing the members of the
agency, the requirements to set rules of procedure and to choose
its officers, the duties and responsibilities of the agency,
and its relation to the Village Council are as set forth in
Chapter 45 (Appendix C) of the Village of North Palm Beach Code.
In addition, the powers, duties, and responsibilities of the Local
Planning Agency shall be such as to permit it to comply with the
requirements of the Local Government Comprehensive Planning Act
of 1975..All meetings of the Local Planning Agency shall be
public meetings and its records shall be public records.
Financial support for the staffing and the work of the Local Planning
Agency shall be provided in the annual budget of the Village of
North Palm Beach as adopted from time to time.
Section 3. The Village Council hereby assigns to the
Local Planning Agency the general responsibilities for the
conduct of the comprehensive planning program and the preparation
of the comprehensive plan or elements or portions thereof. The

Local Planning Agency shall monitor and oversee the effectiveness
and status of the comprehensive plan and recommend to the
Village Council such changes in the comprehensive plan as may
from time to time be required.
Section 4. This Ordinance shall take effect immediately
upon passage.
