AN ORDINANCE OF THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA,
PROHIBITING PERSONS WHO WALK DOGS OFF THE PREMISES WHERE THE OWNER
OF THE DOG RESIDES FROM PERMITTING SUCH ANIMAL TO DEFECATE UPON
PROPERTY NOT OWNED BY THE PERSON WHO OWNS THE DOG OR THE PERSON WHO
IS WALKING THE DOG, AND REQUIRING PERSONS WHO WALK DOGS OFF THE
PREMISES WHERE THE OWNER OF THE DOG RESIDES TO HAVE APPROPRIATE
IMPLEMENTS TO SCOOP UP FECAL MATTER WHICH MIGHT BE DEPOSITED BY SAID
DOG, TOGETHER WITH ADEQUATE CONTAINERS TO CARRY SAID FECAL MATER
BACK TO THE PRIVATE PROPERTY OF THE OWNER OF SAID DOG OR THE PRIVATE
PROPERTY OF THE PERSON WALKING SAID DOG.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORTH PALM BEACH,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. That the Village of North Palm Beach Code is
hereby amended by adding a new section to be numbered 4-13, which
said section shall read as follows:
"It shall be unlawful for any person, while walking a
dog,to permit such dog to defecate upon private
property not owned by said person or not owned by the
owner of said dog or upon public property, including,
but not limited to, public sidewalks and swale areas,
without removing said fecal matter immediately after
such defecation has ended."
Section 2. That the Village of North Palm Beach Code is
hereby amended by adding a new section to be numbered Section 4-32,
which said section shall read as follows:
"Any person who walks a dog off the premises where
the owner of the dog resides or off the premises
where the person who is walking the dog resides
shall carry with him at all times when so walking
a dog appropriate implements to remove any fecal
matter deposited by said dog on public property
or upon private property not owned by the owner
of the dog nor owned by the person walking the dog,
together with adequate containers to carry said
fecal matter back to the private property of the
owner of said dog or back to the private property
of the person walking said dog."
Section 3. This Ordinance shall take effect immediately
upon passage.

MAY, 1979.
