HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance 1978-008 Adopts Plumbing Code 1975 Edition & 1976 Amendments1 1 1 ORDINANCE NO. 8-78 AN ORDINANCE OF THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA, AMENDING CHAPTER 28 OF THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH CODE, TIIE PLUMBING CODE FOR THE VILLAGE, BY ADOPTING BY REFERENCE THERETO THE STANDARD PLUMBING CODE, 1975 EDITION AND THE 1976 AMENDMENTS THERETO INCLUDING APPENDIX A AND APPENDIX D THERETO, AND THE STANDARD GAS CODE, 1976 EDITION, INCLUDING APPENDIX B, EXCEPT SECTIONS 107, 108 AND 114, AND SETTING FORTH AMENDMENTS TO SAID STANDARD PLUMBING AND GAS CODES. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA: Section 1. Section 28-11 of the Village of North Palm Beach Code is hereby amended to read as follows: "Sec. 28-11. ADOPTED BY REFERENCE ---Under the authority of Section 163.295, Florida Statutes, the Village of North Palm Beach hereby adopts by reference thereto the Standard Plumbing Code, 1975 Edition, and the 1976 Amendments thereto, including Appendix A and Appendix D thereto, and the Standard Gas Code, 1976 Edition, including Appendix B, except Sections 107, 108 and 114, and the recommended amendments of the Palm Beach County Building Code Advisory Board, as the plumbing and gas codes for the Village. There has been for at least ten days last past and shall be during the time that these codes are in effect, three copies of such codes and recommended amendments kept available for public use, inspection and examination." Section 2. Section 28-12 of the Village of North Palm Beach Code is hereby amended to read as follows: "Sec. 28-12. AMENDMENTS, CORRECTIONS AND ADDITIONS TO PLUMBING CODE ---The following amendments, corrections, and additions to the recommended amendments to the Standard Plumbing Code, 1975 Edition and the 1976 amendment thereto of the Palm Beach County Building Code Advisory Board are hereby made and adopted; said amendments, corrections and additions being set forth herein with reference to and prefaced by the Section number and title of said amendments, as follows: 106 - FEES. Delete existing first paragraph of Section 106.3 and rewrite as follows: 106.3 - SCHEDULE OF PERMIT FEES (a) A minimum of five dollars ($5.00) for any one permit issued (b) The sum of two dollars ($2.00) for each and every fixture roughed in, either in new or reconstructed or additional plumbing work. (c) Two dollars ($2.00) for each and every sewer connection either in new or reconstructed or additional plumbing work. (d) Two dollars ($2.00) for each and every grease trap installed either in new or reconstructed or additional plumbing work. (e) The sum of five dollars ($5.00) for each repiping installation up to two (2) fixtures and two dollars ($2.00) for each and every water connection. (f) The stun of two dollars ($2.00) for each and every water connection to or outlets for an appliance or installation not covered by fixture permit. (g) The sum of five dollars ($5.00) for each and every support or drainage well up to and including two (2") in diameter and eight dollars ($8.00) for each supply or drainage well over two inches (2") in diameter. (h) The sum of fifteen dollars ($15.00) minimum for each and every solar water heater complete, including heating unit and storage tank, up to one thousand ($1,000) dollars in valuation. In excess of one thousand dollars ($1,000) valuation, refer to Section 107.4 of the Standard Building Code. Replacement of heating unit five ($5.00) dollars, replacement of storage tank five dollars ($5.00). (i) The sum of five dollars ($5.00) may be charged for each reinspection made due to condemnation of work, or due to the fact that work was not ready at the time specified in the application for inspection, or for failure to call for final or other inspection. (j) The sum of two dollars ($2.00) for each roof drain. (k) The sum of five dollars ($5.00) for each gas piping system of two outlets and two dollars ($2.00) for each additional outlet. (1) The sum of three ($3.00) per $1,000 of the contract price or portion thereof for each irrigation sprinkler system. (m) The sum of five ($5.00) dollars for each and every water well to be drilled. III - VIOLATIONS AND PENALTIES. Delete entirely. 1206.1 - Change paragraph (a) to read as follows: (a) Materials for underground water supply system and water service -2- pipe may be a minimum of Type M copper tube, brass pipe or cast iron pressure water pipe. Appropriate approved fittings shall be used on the water supply system or water service piping. 1212.1 - MATERIALS Change paragraphs (a) and (b) to read as follows: Delete all reference to galvanized steel pipe. Section 3. The Village of North Palm Beach Code is hereby amended by adding thereto a new section to be numbered Section 28-13, which said section shall read as follows: "Sec 28-13. AMENDMENTS. CORRECTIONS AND ADDITIONS TO GAS CODE ---The following amendments, corrections, and additions to the Standard Gas Code, 1976 Edition are hereby made and adopted; said amendments, cor- rections and additions being set forth herein with reference to and prefaced by the Section number and title of said amendments, as follows: 107. Bond and License. Delete 108. Gas Inspection and Assistants. Delete 114. Violations and Penalties. Delete Section 4. Any person, firm, or corporation who shall violate a provision of this Ordinance, or fail to comply therewith, or with any of the requirements thereof, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor. Each such person shall be deemed guilty of a separate offense for each and every day or portion thereof during which any violation of any of the pro- visions of this Ordinance is committed or continued, and upon conviction of any such violation, such person shall be punished by a fine of not less than fifty ($50.00) dollars nor more than five hundred ($500) dollars, or by imprisonment not exceeding six (6) months or by both such fine and imprisonment. Section 5. This Ordinance shall take effect immediately upon passage. PLACED ON FIRST READING THIS 27TH DAY OF APRIL, 1978. PLACED ON PUBLIC HEARING THIS 25TH DAY OF MAY, 1978.
